For me, it's whatever is to be found, just around that bend in the alley. It's something shiny in a boutique that's far beyond my means, but never beyond my imagination. It's stopping to ask for directions, and being invited for tea instead. It's being eagerly invited into a shop because it's free to look, and you are a welcomed face in a sea of others. It's freezing your cheeks off while exploring the castles of infamous dictators. It's getting lifted onto the back of a horse while in a dress. It's falling offsaid horse in said dress. It's getting lost, and walking the long way home. It's a 400 meter sprint to your train, suitcase trailing behind you, map flapping in your hand, heart pounding, pupils dilated, anxiety maxed out, and collapsing into your seat just seconds before the train jerks your backwards into its departing chuck-a-lug.
Adventure is wandering. Adventure is exploring. Adventure is solitude. Adventure is sharing. Adventure scares you. It stimulates you. It molds and changes you on a cellular level. It never leaves you. Adventure is anywhere and everywhere and anything and everything you want it to be.
Adventure was. Adventure is. Adventure will be.
